Many veterinarian schools give preference to the students who live in the states in which they are located. Oddly enough that is one of the first things the schools look at. Students wishing to attend veterinarian schools must apple through the Veterinary Medical College Application Service. This is also known as the VMCAS which is operated by the American Association of Veterinary Colleges. Schools require a submission of transcripts, information about professional and volunteer experience, information about extracurricular activities, a personal statement, letters of recommendation, and standardized testing scores. Veterinary schools are seeking candidates who they feel display characteristics of one who can handle the vigorous vet school curriculum.
