Indian number plates
Autos January 18th. 2010, 6:45pmIn India , number plates are also called vehicle registration plates, normally issued by the State government; until 1000 some were issued by the government. Plates are associated with a vehicle and generally last for its life period , though as they become insecure (or for other reasons such as loss or damage) they may be replaced with new ones. New plates are issued when the vehicle is registered in another state, or if the owner asks about them (based on law). Every vehicle must be fitted with these plates so they can be easily identified by the public and police.
